Where does the time go????

Ok, no....I'm not ready for school to start Monday but I'll be close.  Super turn out at Open House last night and I am too excited about my new class.  So much to remember for that first day.....procedures, how kids go home, Book Whisperer, Daily 5, gonna have to refresh with my books this weekend and then try and relax.  Last weekend with my baby (18 year old daughter) home living under our roof before she moves out to college!!!!!!!  Ahhhhhhh!  I am so grateful God has blessed me with a position that on Monday will give me 23 other "babies" to fill the holes in my heart when she leaves:,(

As I walked (ok rushed cuz they were setting the alarm!!) out of my classroom today, I grabbed a few more quick pics of my room.

Have a happy weekend everyone:)  I'm gonna hang with the fam:D

  3. Yay! You're 7 habits too! My school is just beginning that journey this year and I am so excited!! Any advice? The kids have never heard the language before so my board just says 7 Habits right now. I thought I would add the habits as they are introduced. Thoughts?

Oh, and did you order those cute posters or did your school?

Oh gosh... I would just LOVE your help and guidance on this. Thanks!!

  9. Tara, it looks great! I'll try to stop down there next week and bring you those clipboards. I still have work to do but first I have parent meetings and screenings. It buys me a little time. Have a great first day.

  18. Nice to meet you, Tara! I'm a new follower of you as well. Beautiful blog and fantastic ideas! Can't wait to read more of what you have to offer. As for the college student...I had my two oldest move into their dorms the same weekend last year. It was tough but we all survived and you will, too. It is a whole bunch of mixed emotions but the happiness, pride and excitement for your child will soon take over. In the meantime, have you ever heard of Skype? Take care,

  19. Your room is amazing! We all had to pack up and move rooms in the last few weeks. I'll be hitting my hard tomorrow and this week. You've really inspired me.

My youngest son returns to college in Chicago on the 18th. It's hard when they leave but they do come home...with their messes. :)

  22. Have a wonderful first day!! I'll be thinking of you, and praying for the day your 'baby' leaves for college; mine leaves next week! I hope I don't weep all day--the kindergartners would not benefit, lol!

  23. Your room looks amazing! I love it! I'll also be thinking and praying for you when you baby leaves (you too Chrissy). I dread that day, and my baby's two.

  24. There is so much to remember that I end up getting really nervous, like it's my very first year teaching. But it happens EVERY YEAR! Even as I read your post... nerves! I just remember that we're teachers, we adapt! I hope you had a great first day!
