Monday "Made It" Reveal - Classroom/Home Edition

Alrighty, I don't  know about you guys but I have only been out of school since Friday and I can't shut my mind off!!!  (and it's not the coffee Kim;) )

My head is bursting with Pinterest inspired/wonderful bloggy bud creations that I must make for the new school year!!!!  I MUST!!!!!

BUT, I also have a home list a mile long of things I want to get accomplished this summer at my house as well....paint my bedroom yummy grey.......paint the patio furniture......clean.......I'm not sure if it's just me or do all houses suffer at times during the school year??????

So, here is my game plan......hope you think it's a good idea........................it has 2 purposes....
1: to share and hopefully inspire
2: to keep me focused and productive

So each Monday I am going to do a post called "Made It Monday" and will do a "reveal" of a project that I have done for my classroom.  I figure if I do one a week, that's good and if I do one house project a week I should be at least putting a dent in the mile long lists!!!  It will also be a lot of pressure if I say I'm gonna post every Monday about it then I'll have to do it......haha.......it will keep me on task and focused and productive over the summer:)))  EEEK!  It's summer break and I still sound like a teacher......(I don't like pressure but work pretty well under it)

Now let me say right now that so far the projects I have done and the ones on my list are not original.......I hope to come up with an original one or two but the wonderful, amazing blog world full of creative teachers has me so preoccupied that there is no time for original!!!!  As I am posting my inspired projects, know that I will always give credit and links (as long as I can find them) to the originals:)

And, if you get inspired to make something, might even be fun to have a guest blogger share their "Made It"...........hmmmmm.............

Ok, so my classroom "Made It" reveal is something I am oh so excited about!!!!  As soon as I saw this on Pinterest I went nuts!!!!  Oh my word!!!!!!!!

So simple yet gonna be super awesome on my whiteboard!!!  I used several digital papers and backgrounds from:  3 AM Teacher, KPM Doodles, and Lilly Bimble.  Go check out their stores and blogs:)

I preprinted the subjects on the paper because my handwriting is not cute:/  The frames are from Dollar Tree.  I also grabbed a couple packs of photo paper from Dollar Tree too and printed on that and it turned out so nice:))  (Photo paper at Dollar Tree.....who knew!!!!)

Sorry the pics are a little blurry........

So that is my first classroom "Made It" reveal.  Hope you like it and are inspired to maybe make one for your classroom.  (P.S.  I could not track this on Pinterest so if this idea is yours, please let me know and I will add your link to this post:))

Now I won't be boring you with my house "Made It" reveals a lot but had to share this one.  If you have been following me for a while, you know my backyard is my therapy, sanctuary,.....well, the hubs does pools and decks and last week had some left over pavers his boss gave him.  SCORE!  Free pavers + some  family labor and I have a little patio area for my table and chairs (which are vintage and getting a paint job soon). Pics are beginning to end:)
Huge stack of pavers we moved out of the trailer and to the backyard.

Packing sand down and ground leveled.
Puzzle time!  My hubs and daughter put the brick in place, I carried the bricks to them.....hubby was a machine...going faster than I could carry them and I was bringing 5-8 at a time.

More sand.........

Finished product:)  Gonna be here a lot this summer!!!!

Thanks for poppin by and let me know your thoughts on my "Made It" Monday idea;)

  2. Love this post! Both of your projects look fantastic, I've had the objective frames pinned for awhile now myself.
Maybe you could do a "Made It Monday" linky party every so often, so others who are working on school/home projects can link up and share!

  4. Love the patio area. I have a covered porch and my wireless reaches the area, so I coffee and surf in the mornings.

Thanks for the objective idea. My goal was to forget school for 3 weeks...but that was soon forgotten. I have piles on my home desk for the different classes of 'stuff' I've either found or made.

  5. Hi Tara,
I absolutely LOVE your blog and look forward to reading it every day! I personally do not have my own blog yet but have become so inspired by you and your contagious enthusiasm. Thank you! I did see your Made It project on Pinterest and loved it as well. I would like to make that one myself. Your patio looks awesome and it will be a wonderful place to relax I'm sure. I am sooooo jealous that you are already enjoying your summer vacation while I have 16 more days with students and 19 days left for me. I teach 4th grade too! When will your school year begin??

  7. Hello My Dear Pal:
I am drinking my coffee... Where's yours?
I love the idea of "Made it Monday." For the next three weeks, however, "Made it" for me will mean "I made it--I survived!"
Can you believe they are still holding me captive?! There is so much I want to do!
I would be in HappyLand on that patio... with the pavers! It would be like a giant game of Tetris!! And now you have... Coffee Central!

I'm sending you BIG hugs and a happy dance about having Tay with you!

  9. I love this idea--but I love everything you blog about, so no surprise there!!

I really, really adore the project you made. It's going to look so awesome in your room! And I am very jealous! I still have three Mondays more to go. I'm hoping to get to work on the previous project you shared this week (all those beautiful, beautiful little drawers!!).

And that patio...just gorgeous!! I love me a little HGTV and this was just as enjoyable to watch. I hope you enjoy your beautiful backyard today :)

  10. So glad to know I am not the only one who is so excited to get school projects done over the summer!! I love your project, and am very jealous of your backyard. Cleaning up my yard is on my To Do list!! Thank you for the inspiration:)

  11. I am excited for school projects over the summer, too. I can't shut my mind off either this summer! Great post. As soon as I finish my comment I'm going to look through more of your stuff and follow you. It's so exciting to have found all of these blogs and Facebook things. I'm a high school Spanish teacher and you all have such great ideas that I can adapt. And I LOVE to decorate and not all high school teachers are that into it...their loss. At the end of the year I let my students rip down my bulletin boards and take home whatever they wanted because I'm going to do something new...When the room was bare, they all gasped. One student said, I wouldn't have liked Spanish class at all this year if it looked like this.

  12. It's looking fantastic! I love the patio, too... making me jealous!

I think "Made It Monday" would help keep me accountable, too! :) Maybe I will try to join in, if you'll let us!

  13. I love the idea too! I have a million ideas going on in my head too! In fact, I need to make a list of everything!

Do you have to change your objectives daily? We do, which is why I write them on my white board. They do take up a lot of space. Since I will only be teaching one subject this year, I am thinking that I may be able to get away with something like your idea.

Check out my new blog- I am giving away a $25 gift card to Target to celebrate! http://everynewbeginningblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/25-target-gift-card-giveaway.html

    Love your blog!

I want to use the frames to make a weekly calendar for myself.

    Love the patio!

  18. Love your idea! I kind of had the same idea of listing projects and the posting pictures when I finish BUT I didn't think of the super cute name or just doing it once a week! Great idea! I also can not shut my mind off to all of the cute projects and ideas out there in the blogosphere:) Hopefully we can get a lot done this summer!

  23. These projects are fantastic. I've been toying with the idea of the objectives boards, too. And your patio....wowzers!

OK-why don't you make this a linky and then maybe I will feel pressured enough to get my projects completed so that I can link up?

    Seriously....help a girl out :)

    Have a fantastic week creating!

  25. Ooooo Mondays are my new favorite day!!!! What a fun idea to share all the fun goodies you make!! Hopefully you won't be staying up late too many Sunday nights to get them down now that we are all going to be holding you accountable and coming to check out what you've done on Mondays!! :)

The framed objectives are adorable!! We don't have to post our objectives, so I'm thinking maybe I can do those for something else! Hmmm... I'll have to think about that! And your patio looks so wonderful!!! How relaxing!! Lucky you!! And I can't believe how many projects you have made so far!! I hope that I can get that much done when I start summer break!!

    Talk to you soon!!!

  27. I love your "Made It Monday" idea! I will probably only be posting sporadically in the summer as I am heading back home to visit my mom for the summer (I live on the other side of Canada from my family), and she doesn't have internet connection...so I'll have to try to borrow a friend's computer from time to time to post updates, etc.

    I'm your newest follower, btw!
