Monday Made It - 7/22/13 - Early:)))))

9 days!!!!!!!!!

9 days and I am officially back to work!  Oh.....it seems like just yesterday I was packing up.....and now it's gone......tear.....sad face.....oh well:)

I am still on vacay so hoping this posted without any probs.....

My first made it was simple to put together but I am too excited about it.  I saw this on A Cupcake for the Teacher's blog and knew I had to do it!!!!  She has the cutest ideas!!!
A Cupcake for the Teacher

Super cute and much cheaper than buying a bunch of stuffed animals.  They are animal puffs (shower puffs) from Pier One.....LOVE that store....half my house is that....ok, sorry....sidetracked!!!  These little guys are going to be reading buddies for my kiddos:)  Of course it will be optional....I know my girls will love this.....not sure about my boys but ya never know:)
I LOVE my next made it even though I didn't make.....my awesome daughter did!!!

My new hall pass!  I can't believe allllllll the things popping up in my mind that I have got to remake/paint/change because of my little color tweak!!!  It has kinda gotten nuts...lol:)

We used this last year and I just loved it.  The kids clip a clothespin on their shirt or sleeve and hoping this keeps the germies down.....no worries about laying the pass down or forgetting it:)
LOVE!  Thanks to my darling girl!!

Ok, your turn!  Show me what ya got:)

  2. Wow, your daughter did a GREAT job! That is a very good idea! I have some "Ugly Dolls" on keychains, and I have one for boys, and one for girls. They just put it on top of their desk if they leave for the restroom so I know where there are. I astound myself with how many times I'm like, "WHERE is JOHNNY?!?" and the kids are like, "um, you just told him he could go to the restroom..." and I'm like, "I did...???" LOL! I know they must think I'm crazy half the time!

Anyway, the reading buddies idea is cute! Do they still like that in 4th? I've never tried it, and I teach 2nd. I have quite a few stuffed animals leftover from my childhood (I know, I know, HOARDER)...maybe I should pull them out this year and give it a go.

    Thanks again for hosting!

  4. I do the same thing as far as having to change everything for one little tweak. I changed the font I used in the classroom and I literally had to change EVERYTHING! I am not going to do that again for a while! :)

  7. Tara...
Hope you are having a great and relaxing trip. Miss chatting. I just love you reading buddies bucket. The colors are fabulous. Your hall wall pass is so stinking cute. Wish I had a daughter to help me paint. Instead I have a niece who likes to paint my toes.

  8. I'm betting your boys will love the reading buddies more than the girls! I use beanie babies in my room for this same purpose (I have tons from when I was a kid!) and the boys tend to get more attached to them than the girls. I love using reading buddies with them.

  26. I love your reading buddies! I used to use them with my first graders. At first I thought I'd need to find some "tough" ones for the boys (I did find a cute bear with motorcycle goggles and a black leather jacket!), but after a while I noticed that most of the guys were just as happy with the Pink Flapinkie, as we called him (flamingo!). This idea is so much better, 'though: a) cheaper!, b) cuts down on the hours trooping around to garage sales!
Thanks for letting me make my little contribution to this amazing stockpile of creativity!!

  32. This is an odd thing to have pop into your mind...but I use Reading Buddies in my classroom and yes, they are stuffed "animal friends." My kids love them!

However...if you have ever had an outbreak of head lice in your classroom, you know that the "animal friends" need to go into hibernation for a few weeks in dark plastic bags.

The animal puffs would be so easy to wash since they are made to get wet!

    Genius! Sheer genius!

  33. I love your hall pass idea!!! May have to try it soon :) I also have a lot of "reading buddies" My kids have fallen in love with them! Boys and girls in grades 1 - 5!!!! It is amazing what a stuffed critter does for a kid! Love them!!!!

  34. I love the hall pass idea, I can't tell you how many bathroom passes I threw away last year (1st year of teaching) because they got so gross traveling to the bathroom...

Although I'm not super new to the blogging world, I'm new to promoting and keeping up on my blog... so as silly as this question probably is, how do I "link up" for future Mondays?

    Thanks :)
