Monday Made It - Summer Week #3

So here we are in week #3 of the summer linky.  I don't have much for home made its because our renovation is taking over...and getting bigger and bigger.  Has anyone done that?  Started a project and then decided to add this and this and that......

Here are a few pics of the chaos....
Here's an example of how it's growing....our house is an older house and has popcorn ceilings. (HATE them)  Apparently I've complained a lot because hubs figured out a less messy way to remove them.  So, that got added to the list.
This is part of my dining room piled in my living room and plastic to keep the dust down with the jackhammering. (Farley, that's my chippy not dirty antique china cabinet:) )
Naked floor.
Here comes some new tile:)
Phase one of 300 done....grout next and then on to the kitchen, and cabinets, and paint, and ceiling, and light fixtures.......keep my eye on the prize:)

This is gonna be a long drawn out project.  Bless my hubby for working all day and then coming home and doing this in the night and on weekends.
I did manage some classroom made its this week.  First up is recovering my small group stools.

Last year was the first year I have ever done them and wasn't sure how they would work or if I would like them.  Well, the kids LOVED them and so did I.  Honestly, I probably could have gone another year with the same covers but wanted to change things up a bit.
Here are last years:)  Really don't look bad do they?
Here are the new ones:)
I went with 3 patterns this year:)  You can see pics of how I made my stools last year HERE.
I also managed to make 2 new classroom décor sets.  They are bigger versions of the "My Classroom Colors Are" series.

If you want to check these out, the links are under each pic or they are in my TPT store.

That's all I've got for this week.  Don't forget when you link up to grab my buttons and leave some comment love on the blogs you visit:)  Can't wait to see your link-ups:)

  1. Oh my goodness! You sure do have a lot of stuff going on with your re-do in your house. What a great hubby you have. I can't wait to see what everything will look like when it's completely finished. I am loving your new fabric choices. Super cute! So...I have been taking tons of pictures of all these different plants out here in California that I don't normally see in Fl. I need to email some of them to you. You'd be loving all of it for sure!

You didn't text me pictures of the fabric this year so this was a surprise :) I love your decor packs. They look beautiful!!

  3. Super job on the classroom bundles. I have decided on aqua and chevron for this year but your packet makes me want to include more colors. Very hard decision now!!! Love it!

  4. We have popcorn ceilings upstairs in our house, too! Ugh-the thought of getting rid of them and all the work makes me shudder. :) I L-O-V-E your little benches!!!!!!! I wish that I was teaching 4th grade again this year--I wonder if 6th graders could still sit on them? hmmmm...I need to think now. :)
Thanks for letting me link up, and now that I am looking at all of these crafty Monday things, I need to get busy.

  5. We, too, have those horrible popcorn ceilings! Who thought that was a great idea?!? I love your crate seats and the fabric you've picked out. A little helpful hint....use the spray fabric protector on them to keep stains to a minimal.

  7. Holy Cow, Tara! You did the link backwards so I'm number 1 for a while! I love your pack of decor items in lime and turquoise! Those colors match my classroom and I made poster sets last week using those same colors! Awesome- and I will look at your pack to go with my stuff!

  8. I love it all, Tara! While I haven't personally done any renovations yet, I grew up in a constant state of renovation. My parents love that kind of thing. At one point, no joke, we had no walls at the front of the house, just heavy duty plastic wrapped around the beams and posts until the drywall was hung. Needless to say, I will do whatever it takes to avoid renovations of any sort in my own home. Ha! I love your classroom colors so much, so calm!!

  15. I love the crate covers! If I had a house (instead of this lil' apartment) complete with power tools and a sewing machine (granted I'd have to learn how to use both of those things...) I would SO do it! Super cute decor sets too!
I hope your home projects don't drive you too crazy!

  16. I love the new crate covers! Especially that adorable polka-dot fabric! Is it from Hob Lob? Your kitchen remodeling is looking fabulous! I can remember when my parents remodeled their kitchen when we were kids....unfortunately our house suffered a fire half way through! Let's pray that doesn't happen to you!!! I'm scrambling right now to make my Monday Made It, I really, really, really want to link up. Procrastinate much?? Oh well! Thanks for the inspiration and the party!

  17. Tara, Thanks for making Monday Made It weekly! I pinned 4 ideas to make today. Not sure how many I pinned last week. As soon as I finish with my summer PD (I'm teaching one session.) I can work on all the great ideas I'm pinning!

  22. I love your new crate covers! Quick question about your classroom dècor sets...are they upgrades to the ones you already sell? I bought the lime, turquoise, and grey set and am wondering if I need to re download. Thanks for sharing your talents and creativity! :)

    1. Thanks Melanie:) The new sets aren't really upgrades....they are just much bigger than the little sets...I made them because I was having a few people who wanted more and some just want simple and small. Hope this answers your question:) Thanks for stopping by:)
