Ok A) Florida Blogger Meetup was a BLAST!!!! Look for a post about that in a day or two:)
Mor, Jenn and baby B, and me:)
B) What a crafty bunch of peeps you all are!!!!!!
What a fun and inspiring turn out for last weeks Monday Made It!! My list of to dos grew and grew:) Thank you all so much for linking up and sharing your ideas, crafts, and inspirations!!
So here we go with week #2!! I can't even wait to see what's in store with everyone for this week:)
Classroom Made It:
I have seen soooooo many letters/words on Pinterest. Lots of ideas.....the one that got my brain thinking was an idea from Mrs. Knights Smartest Artists. She had big letters spelling the word CREATE, decorated and on display on her cabinets! LOVE THOSE! When I saw that I thought......why not do that with the word READ? (or any word for that matter) Now, my letters are smaller (about 9 inches).
I got my letters at Michaels.
Then I printed up lots of digital papers that I had or had purchased.
Flip the letters over and trace them on the paper.
Cut them out, glue them down, add ribbon and done:)
I'm sure you can totally use scrapbook paper and mod podge....I didn't because I printed on that high gloss Dollar Tree photo paper, so I just hot glued it down.
My plan is to hang them on wide ribbon from the ceiling in front of my not so pretty blinds, over my library.
Home Made It:
Told ya we were painting this.....
Before

After
My daughter helped with the painting:D Alot! I carried things to her and she painted:)

Ok, gang! Now it's your turn!!!! Grab the super cute button by 3 AM Teacher and link up:))
Oh yeah.......grab your coffee too!!
I will be linking up this evening:) I have it 90% done but I have to go into work for a teacher work day..boooo! See you later on!

I made some for my son's room with his name but never thought of making them for the classroom. Great idea!!

ReplyDeleteHi Tara!
ReplyDeleteThe READ letters turned out so cute and your table looks fantastic. It's amazing what a little bit of paint can do. Also, thanks for reading and responding to my little breakdown last night. I think you are right... just stick to you and things will work out. It's the same things we tell our kids, right? Thank you for your kind words and support and thanks for hosting Make it Mondays. I've already found several more projects to add to my list.

Hi Tara,
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. A reader of my blog suggested that I check out your blog for ideas for teaching 4th grade. I just accepted a position at a charter school for 4th grade, and am feeling overwhelmed. I can't wait to go through all of your posts.
Have a great summer!

Tara! Oh, how I have missed reading your blog! You know, LIFE has just happened and I have been out of the blog loop, but I am back! Thanks to you, you have always been such an inspiration to me! After scrolling through and reading your blog posts for the last few weeks and looking at teacher blogs today, I am back at it! I'm ready to spruce up my room for next year!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the "READ" letters you made. Super cute!!
I. LOVE. THOSE. LETTERS. Sorry for the shouty capitals {Fifty Shades reference, anyone?} but I am seriously making those the second I have a chance!!!

I love your letters so much, I went to Michael's looking for them! :-) Did you buy the wooden ones, or did you find white ones to begin with? I can't wait to make them! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteNichole
These letters are the white ones. I think they were $2.99 each...hope that helps:)
DeleteIt does! Thank you! I checked my Michael's and no white ones. :-( But, I think the wooden ones might work out just fine. I'll try to get a pic up when they are done! Thanks again!
