Monday Made It - Summer Week #9

Happy Monday!!!
It's getting real ya'll.....I'm going into my classroom today!!!!  What?!  Our official teacher day back is the 12th BUT I want my sweet daughter to help me before she moves and this is the only, we're doing it!!!  Stay tuned for lots of pics of the process:)
I don't have a lot of made its.....I feel like I haven't had a lot each week all summer:/  Don't know what my deal  Yes I do....I trying to suck up all the summer I can with my kids:))))))
MOST importantly, I am making memories with my kids.  My son starts college today!!!  His college is close so I get to keep him home a little longer:)  My daughter is leaving this weekend for Tallahassee to start her masters.  I am so happy for both of them and incredibly proud of them!  We have had a wonderful summer.......memories.  THAT is what matters ya'll!!
I have to confess......I SOOOOO wanted to change up my classroom colors a little this's a sickness.  They were new last year, so why change?  I decided to leave things and here's why....I KNEW I would have stressed myself out remaking EVERYTHING...and didn't want that...remember memories???  BUT I did decided to tweak a few things and make a few small changes so I made new team tub and team (hang over the group) signs:)

This made it took me a little while to put together.  The idea is from the amazing Abby at The Inspired Apple.  I loved this idea.  I'm going to have it out for open house and the first week of school to help my new kiddos get to know a little more about me:)
Meet Mrs. Eiken bulletin board:)

Kitchen update!  Floors finally done...whew that took a while!  Cabinets in and done but don't have the knobs and pulls on countertop and sink are gonna be here Tuesday:)  Getting there, a bit at a time;)
Now it's your turn:)  Can't wait to see everyone's fun!  Thank you all for linking up and sharing this summer;)  Not sure how much longer the weekly ones will continue.....I may have to switch back to monthly soon:)  My life is about to get real CRAY!!!!!
Have a blessed Monday!!

Florida Teacher Blog Hop

I have lived in Florida for 25 years!  I moved to Charlotte county with my husband 3 days after we were married.  Before that I lived in Illinois all my life.  The sand and palm trees were shell shock for this small town, farm girl but I have adjusted and LOVE it here!
One advantage to living where I live is being close to several beaches.  I LOVE to get up early and go to the beach for a walk.
This past year my husband and I were blessed enough to come across a team that was checking sea turtle nests and guess what?!?!
LOOK!  Precious babies!  We got to help watch and make sure they all made it to the water!!  What a treat!!  I just love collecting shells too!
I am also lucky enough to live close to a very popular beach.  Siesta Key.  The sand there is like white sugar!
I have actually been there a ton of times because my daughter plays beach volleyball and has had a lot of tournaments there:)  So beautiful!
Just a few weeks ago I was able to finally meet my bloggy bestie, Elizabeth from Fun in Room 4B, there!
This weekend, we have freebies for you to enjoy! Stop by each of our blogs for an activity or idea to use in your classroom. I have 2 freebies for ya!  To grab them just click on the pics:)
                  Login Loops                                                     My Pet..Shared Writing
The Login Loops I made because my kiddos are always asking if I remember their username and password.....?!  No, I don't....there are too many so I made a set of these for each student this year to help them remember.  The My Pet freebie is one of a few sets of my shared writing journal covers.  These are great to put in a writing center for Work on Writing.  Hope you can use one or both of them:)
The Florida teachers below have two fantastic giveaways for you! You can enter once from each one of our pages. All you have to do is follow my blog! Hop around to all the blogs listed below, and be sure to follow them to get more entries. The more entries you have, the more likely you are to win! Monday Made It - Summer Week 8

It's that time again....and I was almost ready ahead of!
I'm gonna dive right in to my made its for this week:)  They are all classroom related....WHAT?!?!  No home made its....insert sad face:(  I mowed but pretty sure you don't want to see pics of that...and the kitchen is still in limbo....soooo....

This is my version of the NO NAME PAPER BLACK HOLE!  I know every classroom has one.  I even had the cute little bucket with the highlighters and little reminder last year and STILL had kiddos not write their names......and it was always the same kids!!!  I have to tell ya, if I ever quit teaching I am pretty sure I can become a handwriting

I tried to have some fun with the different messages:)  I laminated each of the little messages and then glued them to some fat fun clothespins I got at Michaels.  I then glued all those to a stick I painted with polka dots.  I was just going to make each of the clips magnets but wasn't willing to give up that much board space.  Now I will just glue the stick somewhere on the wall in my room;)
We will see if this helps this year:)
UPDATE!!  I just posted these as a FREEBIE in my TPT shop:)
Have You Seen My Name?
My next made it I didn't make.  I downloaded, printed, and laminated.  This year I am going to be doing a lot of STEM in my classroom.  Well Carol from Teachers are Terrific has AMAZING resources just for STEM and I can't wait to try them all!
These are part of her STEM and Science Posters Bundle and guess what?!  They're in my colors...lime and turquoise:)  Happy, happy me!!!
Just love these!  They are going to be a great addition to my classroom this year:) Pop over to her blog and store and say hi!!
My last made it is a Critter themed set of my Math Meeting Headers.

I started using morning Math Meetings 2 years ago and it has changed my "math world" forever!  If you don't know what they are or how I use them, you can read about it HERE.  I will NEVER teach math again without doing this:)  Anywho, I FELL IN LOVE with these adorable Scrappy Bugs from Graphics From the Pond!
They make me smile!  So much so that even though they aren't the lime, turquoise, and gray theme... I'm using them! Gotta have a classroom that makes you smile, right?
If you're interested, you can check them out HERE or click on the pic:)

That's all for me!  I can't believe the summer is winding down and it's about to get real!  Thank you again to everyone who linked up last week!  Can't wait to see what I get to add to my to do list this week:)

5 for Friday!

What, What?!?!?!
2 posts in one week?  I know I've been terrible about posting but I am really trying hard to enjoy my summer that is flying by way to fast:/  So I'm sorry for not posting more....promise it will pick up in a few weeks when I'm back in my classroom.
So today I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs for her fun 5 for Friday linky:)  Here is a peek at 5 random things from my week....keeping in mind, it's summer
Yesterday I had a fun girl's day with my sweet daughter:)
I am cherishing every second I have with a few short weeks she will be moving to Tallahassee to FSU (yes, we're gonna be Seminole fans!) for her masters.  Although I am soooo happy for her, she is going to be quite a long way from me compared to her other school so I am eating up all the mommy/daughter time I can!
While we were shopping we hit Pandora!  Love that store:)
I treated myself to a new thumb ring:)  Love it!!
My classroom stash is taking over my house!  Anyone else have that problem...and with the kitchen reno it's a hot mess in here!!
I have been working out since May 17!!  Like hard!  It all started with Rachelle from For Blogness' Sake and her 3 Weeks No Cheats challenge:)  One of my no cheats was to not cheat on my workout:)  Well that was 2 rounds of 3 weeks and a few extra weeks ago and I haven't cheated once on my workouts.  I've been lifting weights and running everyday but Sunday, rest day:)
This week I hit 273.4 miles with my running!!!!!
And finally, a confession.....
I've gotten quite addicted to washi tape and all cute things for my EC life planner:/  There, I said it and feel  Having too much fun making my cute planner cuter!
So there's my randomness from this past week....and of course I am getting ready for Monday Made It.  I'm a little ahead of the game this time....maybe...:)
Have a blessed weekend!
